MRP Solutions
Welcome to the MRP software portal. What does MRP mean? MRP can mean materials resource planning, manufacturing resource planning, materials requirements planning and manufacturing requirements planning. Basically, MRP is about managing the balance between supply and demand. This is done by analyzing current and predicted future material and distribution requirements and planning accordingly. MRP solutions are best integrated with a production scheduling application as well as a supply chain management application.MRP, or material requirements planning software, helps manufacturers answer the questions, What is needed? How much is needed? When is it needed?
A good MRP system helps generate accurate material requirements and master production schedules, provides bills of material and routings with real or standard allocations. They help companies maintain tighter control of raw materials inventories, releasing more operating revenue and reducing supply bottlenecks and raw materials shortages.
What is MRPII?
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, manufacturers integrated MRP and other manufacturing and business functions. This renaissance is commonly known as Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II). MRP II is a method for the effective planning of all resources of a manufacturing company. Ideally, it addresses operational planning in units, financial planning in dollars, and has a simulation capability to answer "what if" questions. It includes business planning, sales and operations planning, production scheduling, material requirements planning (MRP), capacity requirements planning, and the execution support systems for capacity and material. Output from these systems is integrated with financial reports such as the business plan, purchase commitment report, shipping budget, and inventory projections in dollars. Manufacturing resource planning is a direct outgrowth and extension of closed-loop MRP.Benefits of MRP Systems
Reduce inventory Increase manufacturing productivity Just-In-Time (JIT) purchasing/inventory management Reduced labor costs through workflow automation Respond rapidly to changing circumstances React quickly to customer demands Reduce operating costs through streamlined processes
